My interest in serving my community started at a very young age.  I would join my mother in helping to clean our local brick church on Old Redwood Highway and the Ursuline Sisters Facility. I also volunteered to serve food and entertain our senior citizens at the Grange Hall on Starr Road. At age 19 I started volunteering as a religious educator at Our Lady of Guadalupe.

Today I regularly participate in the following organizations along with many others that have annual events:

St. Vincent De Paul – Cloth closet, food, emergency assistance

United Way – VITA , tax preparer

Our Lady of Guadalupe – Parish Council Co-Chair
While it was my mother guiding my way in faith and service, it was my father that had me focus on education and developing hard work ethics.  He taught by example and even though he can sometimes come across as stern, it was always with love.

I began working at age 16.  My first job was at Lakewood Pizza (located at the Raley’s shopping center).  From there I got an accounting job at Simi Winery, with the help of the career center at Healdsburg High School (graduating class of 1990) my senior year.  I continued working for them until 2004.  Today I am getting ready to celebrate 10 years with Jackson Family Wines.  I started with them as an office manager and moved into the position of Business Manager.  I work with million dollar budgets and help sort through bids for jobs and create capital requisitions.

Ensuring that Windsor is a safe family friendly community is my top priority.  I want to have smart, controlled growth with focus on infrastructure.   We need to make sure our schools, fire and police departments are strong before we grow in population, not after. I want to protect our open space and maintain our urban growth boundaries.

I am currently raising my 3 children in Windsor.  Two attend the Windsor high school and my youngest attends Alexander Valley School for one more year.  I live walking distance to the Town Green and I hope to help maintain its charm and family oriented atmosphere. It brings great joy to me when we can have events like Kaboom, Summer Nights on the Green and Kid’s movie nights with little to no crime. I want to work with adults that can help educate our youth and find activities that inspire them to stay in school and respect our community.

I’m not giving up on Windsor and I hope you don’t either.   Vote for me, Rosa Reynoza, on November 8th.

Thank you
